ENGAGING MIDDLE GROUND_ Located on the ground floor of The Standard Singapore, the Cafe Standard with its indoor and outdoor seating is designed to be seamless extension of the reception lobby, as well as a preamble to the lush garden courtyard beyond - creating an engaging middle ground between inside and outside experiences.
Anchored by a sculptural bar detailed with clam shell display shelves, the soaring Cafe space adjoins the entrance reception and naturally frames the dramatic view into the greenery and patio beyond. Custom-designed ‘orbiting’ lights, akin to a spatial art installation, extend from brass rods into the different corners of the space, helping to create a sense of human scale amidst the tall slender space. Mid-century modern inspired custom furniture pieces are nestled within the timber fluted columns, creating a variety of cozy seating nooks to enjoy light bites and a cocktail from.

Approaching the lighting design with an installation art like attitude, 'orbiting' lights were custom designed and manufactured to encompass the space, navigating between the large structural columns.

Transforming from day, evening and on to the night, the Cafe's atmosphere and mood responds to varying amounts of daylight with curated interior lighting and a soundtrack to suit shifting moods.
Experentially laid back, welcoming and chill, the Cafe's mood can also cater to live event hosting and high energy occasions via an integrated sound system and a cantilevered deejay counter.
