Design Description:
Movenpick Resort & Spa Quy Nhon comprises a collection of unique building types, choreographed along the pristine coastline and presented as a series of integrated land sculptures. Comprising a main hotel block, several guest room blocks, a spa complex, a dining complex and numerous free standing villa types, the resort also employs a host of sustainable features and seeks to redefine what the architectural expressions of a luxury resort destination could be. Perched on steep cliff side banking deep turquoise waters, MOD's architectural explorations focus on creating formal gestures which draw inspiration from the natural context, combining contemporary expression with subtle textures with a natural palette of materials. Ultimately, the design attempts to strike a balance between being respectful of the natural landscape as well as creating a palpable and dramatic sense of place.
