Izakaya Reinvented_ Arguably the yummiest spot in The Standard Singapore, Kaya at the Standard’s bold new take on the classic Japanese izakaya experience reinvents it in surprising and delightful ways. Our interiors play up the hotel’s love and obsession with all things rich in biophilia and mid century modern, intensifying it with pizzazz through our selection of carefully crafted custom furniture, a dramatic ceiling scape of hanging greenery and feature lighting and an immersive sense-surround mural.

The space is grounded by the floral-cum-glassware inspired mural by artist Saran Yen Panya - featuring local tropical flowers such as the Orchid which are paired with mid century modern glassware. Printed on a fabric backing and overlayed with 3D embroidered flowers, the mural ties in the varying nooks and distinct zones, from banquette seating, display passthrough to feature bar.

An ’S’ shaped banquette anchors the arrival space with its humorously bulbous shape and is flanked by custom furniture which range from the marquetry inspired communal table to the woven dining chairs - the space also manages to capitalise on the presence of a large column in its middle to create 2 slightly differentiated zones - one anchored by the display window and the other by the feature bar.

Transforming from breakfast destination in the morning, all the way through lunch, dinner to late night cocktails, the space evolves to reflect different modes through the use of distinctive light settings as well as curated music playlists.
